In summer 2017 Lee Vogt and I began development on a music project. Lee is an actor and a teacher, but he has been crafting original songs for some time. In 2018 we took a group of his songs into Jim Helman’s studio in Berkeley CA. Here’s “Take me In Your Arms,” the first finished recording to hatch from the recording sessions.

While Lee cites the confessional folk-rock of Leonard Cohen as an influence, I was hearing this song in more a radio-ready adult-contemporary mode ala Harry Nilsson and Gerry Rafferty. We ended with a very upbeat toe-tapping bit of ear candy this side of “Kokomo.”
