about

This is a remix of the opening track to my 1988 album, YELLOW HOUSE (currently out of print). The lyrics are a stream of consciousness about one’s heart being like a book. It's a long story how and why Hal Blaine played drums on this. The song formed out of a pair of improvisations, timed out to exactly 2 minutes. Once I locked down a vibrant rhythm section (bass and drums), I cut the guitar and vocals in one take--whatever came out was whatever I'd keep. An organ was added to give it ambience. Musically it's largely inspired by early U2 and late 60s psychedelic garage bands.
