about

In the late 80s/early 90s, Davy Jones and Alan Green tinkered on a pilot for a musical called "Me." It was somewhat biographical, and "Number One" was a touchstone songs for the plot. Then musical went unfinished and tracks were dispersed in other releases. Around 2000 Davy asked me to remix this track.

Alan Green was one of my bridges to working with Davy. Alan is a hugely talented singer-songwriter and musician, and we were fast friends for awhile. He is also known as Arlyn Day, charting in the early 80s with the song "I Surrender." and his eclectic career has intersected with Merv Griffin, Mutt Lange, Dudley Moore, and The Plimsouls (among others).
