evinrude was the non de plume of singer-songwriter, DJ, and multi-media artist Kevin Spyker (born Speicher). He took the name from the famous cartoon dragonfly in "The Rescuers." I co-produced and played on evinrude's 1997 debut CD, HOMEGROWN, also co-produced and engineered by John Bechdel (Killing Joke, Ministry). It received good notices and drew comparisons to Beck and Blind Melon. Spyker/evinrude toured around Pennsylvania to promote this CD (I played some of those shows). Currently he is performing and recording as Kevin Spyker, engaging in multi-media music projects and DJ-ing.
