about

I recorded it for my FIRE album but ended up setting it aside...till now. “Keep Sharing the Crayons”is a passion piece inspired by observing and enjoying fellowship at a church as well as cooperation amongst eclectic people—“The Grand Company, No more missing harmony.” Everyone—black, white, brown, old, young, big, small—brings something to this big drawing board called life, and it’s a gift to be handed even the tiniest role in this Kingdom called Earth.

The line “And you know the difference, it won’t wash away…” was inspired by the sidewalk chalk art scene with Dick Van Dyke in “Mary Poppins.”

The music bed is influenced by the 80s synth-pop band New Musik, even though I went into a scruffier sound than what Tony Mansfield might’ve done. This was mixed by Tim Breon. Dedicated to protest sign-makers everywhere.
