Johnny J. Blair feat. John Bechdel & Davy Jones - A Little Industrial Nachtmusik

about

For fans of merry machine music and Monkees...One may ask what techno-electronica music has to to with The Monkees, but they were one of the first mainstream pop groups to use synthesizer (also shown on their TV show). Micky Dolenz bought one of the first Moog synthesizers released to the market in 1967 (and later persuaded George Harrison into buying one). On that note...in the late 90s Monkee Davy Jones and I were doing recording sessions at John Bechdel's studio. John is a musical visionary and a wizard of keyboards, synthesizers, and tech. He has worked with a remarkable list of music acts: Ascension of the Watchers, Brian Brain, False Icons, Fear Factory, Killing Joke, Ministry, Nukes, Prong, and other notables. One day John retooled one of Davy's demos, "Oh What a Night" (redone by The Monkees in 1996 for their JUSTUS album). John expanded the track with synths and effects, then remixed my Mellotron parts. From this "A Little Industrial Nachtmusik" was made, and I added it to FIRE. The cover art for this track is called "Spirit of Industry," painted by Nathan Wagoner nathanwagoner.com.
