"Spirit" was written by Mike Scott, who anchors The Waterboys. We were all big fans and adapted the song to a Talking Heads-meets-60s girl group arrangement. We rehearsed the song for live performance, and made this demo, but that's as far as it got. On occasion I still do "Spirit" and another Waterboys favorite, "Whole of The Moon." Recorded 5/86 in Victor Valverde's apartment.
