about

Probably my first "new wave" song, written in 1978 when Elvis Costello and Squeeze first hit the scene, and Badfinger, The Beach Boys, The Flamin' Groovies (who I'd met), and The Kinks were undergoing critical reappraisal. This rubbed off on me. I demo'd the song twice before finally getting into the studio to cut this definitive version. In 1997, Rusty Richards remixed it for me (Rusty is a Grammy-winning engineer who worked with Buddy & Julie Miller, Michelle Shocked, and Brian Wilson). This track was remixed and brightened one more time and issued on GRATEFUL www.cdbaby.com/cd/johnnyjblair3.
