about

I always wanted to write a baroque pop song like "Eleanor" by The Turtles, so this is it. There's some McCartney/"Lady Madonna" mouth trombones as well. The lyrics are about this woman I knew from the messenger company. Everyday, like clockwork at 4:59pm, her boyfriend picked her up in a "long black car." At this time she had a cold and complained that all she could do was sleep and read.
