about

A lo-fi experimental leftover from the SUSPENSION BRITCHES San Francisco sessions of 1991. I still play this often in concert. I was imagining this song as if Cheap Trick had done it.

Like many people, I grew up hearing Elvis Presley sing this song. However, it wasn’t until I heard Bob Dylan cover it (on his “scraps” of all-covers album called DYLAN) did it occur to me that I should play it. Dylan gave it a gospel flair, and that triangulation with God’s love is what I aim to reflect when I perform the song. I recorded a hard rock version of, but most people have heard me perform it like it is in this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeFCSe_t7OQ&list=UUIQGK3FjeBQrU1hd2AVvfog&index=17&feature=plcp, as a medley with George Gershwin’s “Summertime” and whatever else flies into my head. On this particular outing, I was opening a show for Davy Jones, and he contributed in a way only he could.
